Note: If pH has been below 7.2 and / or total alkalinity has been below 60 ppm for an extended period of time, dissolved metal from pool equipment may cause staining of pool surfaces or discoloration of water as pH is raised. Test pool for copper and iron before proceeding further. Use of a metal sequestrant such as PROtech Metal Out Plus will help to solve this problem.

Directions:
Measure pH and Total Alkalinity. Note: Total Alkalinity should be adjusted first, then adjust the pH.
From the chart below, determine the quantity of Alkalinity Increaser required to bring pool up to proper levels.
As a general rule, 1.5 pounds of Alkalinity Increaser per 10,000 gallons of pool water will raise the Alkalinity level by 10 ppm.
 
     For plaster pools, ideal Alkalinity levels should be maintained between 100 - 150 ppm.
     For vinyl, fiberglass and painted pools, ideal levels should be between 125-150 ppm
 
Do not add more than 4 lbs. of Alkalinity Increaser per 10,000 gallons at any one time. Add Alkalinity Increaser directly to the pool water. Make certain that the circulation filter pump is operating. Allow the water to recirculate for two or three hours and re-test for pH and Total Alkalinity. Repeat as necessary until proper levels are established. In the event pH has been increased above 7.6, use PROtech pH Minus to adjust pH downward to the proper level. Do this only after the Total Alkalinity level has been adjusted to the proper range.

If the pH is below 7.2, add pH Plus at the rate of 1 lb. per 10,000 gallons of pool water.
Dissolve pH Plus in a bucket of water, mix thoroughly and pour solution into the pool while walking around the perimeter. Allow the water to recirculate for two to three hours, recheck pH and repeat treatment as necessary until the pH is between 7.4 - 7.6.  Do not and more than 4 lbs. of pH Plus per 10,000 gallons at any one time.

     For plaster pools, ideal pH level is 7.4
     For vinyl, fiberglass and painted pools, ideal pH level is 7.6
 

Directions:
Balance Total Alkalinity in pool water to 80-125 for plaster finishes and 125 - 150 for vinyl, fiberglass and all other non-masonary finishes. For most efficient performance of pool chlorine, pH should be maintained between 7.2 and 7.6. Use a reliable test kit  to determine pH. If the test shows a pH above 7.6 add this product to the pool water using the chart below as guide.
To add this product, broadcast into the deep end of the pool when not in use. Add directly to pool with pump and filter running. Never add more than 1.5 pounds of this product per 10,000 gallons of pool water at any one time. Allow pool water to recirculate two hours and then retest pH. Repeat treatment as necessary. Newly plastered pools may require frequent treatments for the first few weeks while the pool is "curing".Do not add near metal fittings nor allow pH to drop below 7.2. Do not allow un-dissolved lumps to remain on the pool bottom. These can be broken up by brushing or other means of agitation.
