DIRECTIONS FOR USE FOR D.E. AND CARTRIDGE FILTERS:
Using a clean spray bottle with full strength product, evenly coat elements or cartridge. Wait 10 minutes; then using garden hose, thoroughly rinse for 5 minutes, OR using a large clean plastic bucket soak for 1 hour in one part of this product to three parts water.

DIRECTIONS FOR SAND FILTER :
Backwash filter thoroughly . Turn pump off. Pour Filter Cleaner into skimmer basket. Chlorine must be removed from the skimmer basket prior to the addition of this product. Automatic feeder should be turned off prior to any addition of this product. See chart for exact amount of this product to be used. Turn pump on until pump primes and product moves into filter. Leave filter selector in backwash position or in closed position. Wait one hour. Turn pump on with selector in backwash position, until backwash waste water is clear.
 

Maintenance Usage :
Pour 8 ounces of Filter Cleaner into skimmer while backwashing filter. Chlorine must be removed from the skimmer basket prior to the addition of Filter Cleaner. Automatic feeder should be turned off prior to any addition of this product. For maximum filter performance, it is recommended to be done at each backwashing.

 
Normal:
1. Adjust valves for full skimmer(s) intake.
2. Start filter backwashing as recommended by manufacturer.
3. Slowly pour 8 oz. into skimmer.
4. Continue backwashing process according to manufacturer's instructions.

Tips:
Use Back Wash every time the filter is backwashed to maintain filter efficiency and a crystal clear pool.
 

Normal:
1. Close main drain if possible to allow maximum intake from skimmer.
2. Start filter backwash as recommended by manufacturer.
3. While filter is backwashing, slowly pour 8 oz. into skimmer so that it goes directly through filter.
4. Continue backwash procedure according to manufacturer's instructions.

Tips:
Use every time filter is backwashed to maintain crystal clear water clarity and maximum efficiency of sand filter.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE FOR D.E. AND CARTRIDGE FILTERS:
Remove the filter cartridges or removable D.E. elements and rinse with water.
Add 1 pound of Dry Filter Cleaner per 5 gallons of warm water in a plastic bucket, make enough solution to cover the filter elements. Stir solution with a wooden or plastic stirrer until it is completely dissolved, place the cartridge or
element in this cleaner solution and soak 10 to 12 hours. Remove cartridge or elements from the solution and rinse with water using a high pressure nozzle. If possible, allow cartridge to dry before placing back.

DIRECTIONS FOR SAND FILTER AND NON-REMOVABLE ELEMENTS:
Prepare enough solution to cover filter media by dissolving 1 pound Dry Filter cleaner per 5 gallons of warm water. After back-washing the filter, turn off the pump, drain filter and remove all debris from lint pot. Turn pump back on with the handle still in the backwash position and pour solution into the lint pot until the sand and elements are completely covered. Shut off pump and leave handle in backwash position, allow solution to remain in the filter for 10 to 12 hours. Backwash until water exiting the line is completely clear, however do not allow cleaning solution to backwash into the pool.

For Cartridge elements or Diatomaceous Earth filter grids:
Remove cartridge or D.E grids from the filter tank and hose off loose material. In a pail, bucket or trash container with 5 to 10 gallons of water, add 1 liter bottle of Filter perfect. Place cartridge elements or D.e grids in solution and soak for a minimum of 6 hours, preferably overnight. Remove from solution and rinse thoroughly/ Clean cartridge elements should be allowed too dry before reinstalling.

For Sand Filters:
Have pump running and filter in backwash mode. Suction should come primarily from skimmer, not main drain. Add 1 bottle of Filter Perfect to skimmer. Once contents of bottle has entered filter, turn pump off and put valve on either close or filter setting, turn pump off and put valve in either close or filter position for a minimum of 6 hours. Turn pump on with filter setting to backwash, run until water flows clear. Do not allow pump to run dry. Return filter to normal operation.
 

Normal:
Remove cartridge or D.E. filter from housing. Rinse off any loose material and completely saturate the filter with water. Spray Filter Blaster over the entire filter surface area . Allow to soak for 5 minutes and rinse clean with garden hose. Heavily soiled filters may require a second application. If possible, let cartridge filters dry before reinstalling. This allows the fibrous material to "fluff" allowing filter to capture material most effectively.

Tips:
Always start out the season with a clean filter. Use Filter Blaster during the season to keep your filter working a peak efficiency. Maintaining your filter will reduce chemical consumption and result in consistently cleaner, clearer water throughout the season. Filter Blaster is safer to use than muriatic acid.
 

3-Month Cleaning:
1. Remove grids or cartridges from filter.
2. In a clean, plastic pail, bucket or trash can that contains 8 gallons of water, add contents of FILTER CLEAN. (This is enough solution to clean 110 square feet of filter area.)
3. Place cartridge or grids upright in solution.
4. Soak for a minimum of 3 hours. For maximum effectiveness, soak overnight.
5. Remove filter from solution. Hose off filter with high pressure nozzle and replace.

Tips:
Filters should be cleaned every three months or as needed.
For maximum benefit, allow cartridge to dry before reinstalling.

For Cartridge Filters and Removable D.E. Filter Elements:
1. Remove cartridge filter and rinse with clean water.
2. Prepare FILTER FRESH solution by adding 16 oz. of FILTER FRESH in bucket of 2.5 gallons of warm water.
DO NOT USE galvanized aluminum or porcelain container for soaking. Always add FILTER FRESH to water, NOT water to FILTER FRESH.
3. Place cartridge filter in solution and allow to soak overnight ( 12 hours ). Remove filter after soaking and rinse thoroughly with clean water. If possible, allow cartridge filter to dry completely.

Tips:
Refer to filter manufacturer's recommendations regarding maintaining your pool filter at peak efficiency. Refer to actual label for product precautions. It's a good idea to keep an extra filter cartridge to use when the regular filter is soaking overnight.

Monthly:
1. Remove cartridge filter element from filter housing and rinse thoroughly with water to remove loose material.
2. Saturate the filter element with water.
3. Spray Instant Cartridge Clean over entire surface area for maximum effect.
4. Let set 3-6 minutes.
5. Rinse filter COMPLETELY with water and replace filter back into spa. (NOTE: If filter is not completely rinsed, foaming may occur.)
6. For heavily soiled filters, repeat steps 1-5.

Tips:
It is recommended that cartridge filters be thoroughly cleaned on a monthly basis to maintain clear, clean water.
 

Directions for use with Zeolite media filters:
1. Backwash filter, then shut off pump and remove hair and lint pot cover.
2. Drain filter.
3. Turn ON pump, making certain that handle is in the backwash position.
4. Slowly pour Clean & Refresh solution (see label for instructions on how to make solution) into the hair and lint pot with pump running. Do not allow the pump to run dry.
5. Continue adding Clean & Refresh solution until the zeolite media is covered.
6. Shut OFF pump at once; leave handle in backwash position and allow to stand overnight (12 hrs).
7. After 12 hours, backwash until the water coming from the backwash line is clean and free of foam.
8. Start pump and fill filter with clean water. NOTE: Do not allow Clean & Refresh solution to get into the pool.

Tips:
Use Clean & Refresh every three months to improve filter efficiency. Clean zeolite clears water better and faster!
