The vacuum is operated by placing your thumb or finger over the air hole, submerging the vac, then releasing your finger. As the water rushes in, it pulls dirt and debris into the chamber. When the chamber is full of water, the vac is then lifted out, draining clear water back into the spa and trapping the debris in a 50-micron filter.
